after the badgers
Everyone’s heard about the feral badgers of Basra by now. But what about the squirrels?
Police in Iran are reported to have taken 14 squirrels into custody - because they are suspected of spying. The rodents were found near the Iranian border allegedly equipped with eavesdropping devices, according to Sky News.
You just wait, Ahmedinejad - wait until we release the hamsters!
UPDATE: 14/7. Attenborough's war, continued:
Did a scary-looking camel spider cause a Dutch F-16 to crash in Afghanistan? Maybe, maybe not, but a panel has concluded that might be the most plausible cause what is otherwise an inexplicable crash...

Syrian hamsters or Russian hamsters? I think we should know.

Good thing I've been poisoning the squirrels around my place.

If you take squirrels into custody you'll torture them and no need for the electrodes or the sexual humiliation. When they're not outside their internal guidance system goes haywire.
I used to work in Oxford Brookes University Library where there were loads of squirrels outside and occasionally (I admit I never saw it myself) one would come in through the window in summer. Apparently they would go absolutely barmy.
