This I mean. There’s a line to take on everything, politics is in command, and you can predict exactly what anyone is going to say about anything. The world is divided between friends and enemies: all enemies are linked together in fuzzy but menacing conspiracies. We claim all good things to ourselves. This is why our view must prevail over others. The fact that people who do not share our views are prominent is because enemies dominate the areas in which they work. There is weakness and strength. We must at all times be on the side of strength. There is black and there is white. For revisionism read moral relativism.
The CIA did this kind of thing much better with Encounter, which was very keen on claming the future through cultural production. Very big on abstract expressionism and experimental literature, the folks at Langley.
