misery is our business

Dave’s quite right. This needs further exposure:

The development has left the opposition party on the backfoot, as City regulation becomes a new political dividing line. "No one takes pleasure from people making money out of the misery of others but that is a function of capitalist markets," Mr Osborne said.

I presume the people who make the money take some pleasure out of doing just that. I presume the political parties that the people who make the money donate to are also pleased to get it.

Well, the Tories were bought and it looks like they're staying bought. So it’s a good spot by the hedge funds.
