The etiquette of Lebanese drug busts:
“Drugs are fine, cars are fine but the police have been told that if they enter a house looking for drugs and find 50 machine guns or RPGs, they had better pretend like they didn’t see anything,” a Hizbollah member confirmed. “Weapons are for the resistance.”

This followed an outbreak of indiscipline amongst Lebanese dope clans that saw one of them carjack Imad Mugniyeh’s son, which tends to indicate people who may be consuming too much of their own product. The men responsible were killed in late March. Instead of doing it themselves, the Hezbies subcontracted the job to the Lebanese army – with certain provisos, as above.
