"Go home, Yankee hipster"

Fairey always struck me as having an ad copywriter's mindset. He sees himself working in a mass communications medium, making large universal statements. The totalitarian style was a big influence on him the same way it was on the designers of The Face back in the '80s.

Banksy strikes me as more of a guerilla marketer. Whatever backlash he's got for the money he's now making, his stuff is far sharper. The Cardinal Sin thing in Liverpool recently was great.
