Having already embraced power tools, the Amish are now settling into the use of machines that make words, though not those which talk to each other. This reminds me a bit of recently encountered Amazonian tribes trying to get to grips with the tide of stuff that flows in from the exterior, short of the mass die off from disease, despair and predation. Alternatively, this could be the beginnings of an attempt to make steampunk an actual viable future.
