But what we do know is that Lucy Meadows was monstered by tabloid newspapers when news emerged that she was transitioning from male to female.
And today she was found dead, believed committed suicide. People kill themselves for multiple causes. So while getting the treatment from Richard Littlejohn, Britain's primary contender in the Mencken for Morons category, may not have been the sole reason for her terminal decision it's difficult to believe that it was absent from her calculations either. Leveson opponents say that it's unnecessary to have regulation because the law eventually caught up with a lot of the alleged hackers and bribers. But gratuitous abuse of the vulnerable is not illegal, it takes place regularly and if the press doesn't stop doing it any society with the vaguest aspirations towards civilisation will eventually try and take action to stop it.
