I am entertained by the thought that, as of about four months ago, government-toppling mass protests will be triggered not by the imprisonment of a popular leader, or by the shooting of dissidents in the street, but by disagreements over the terms of international trade and tariff treaties.

Ha, good point belle. And the real argument there was "this deal will lower prices for the rest of the population, which means I won't be able to make money on my smuggling racket any more".
