A quick question. Live 8 is supposed to be about justice rather than charity. Yet what Hairy Bob et al are campaigning for is an act of charity on the part of G8 nations.
Now, if some of the more honest and enterprising members of the existing African leadership cadre were to stand up and denounce the payments they'd been lumbered with by former tyrants as odious debt which they were going to damn well repudiate, wouldn't this be a suitable cause round which to stage marches and concerts by popular beat combos? "Forgiveness no, repudiation, yes." How's that for a slogan?
