Rescue workers were continuing to battle hellish conditions in an underground tunnel between King's Cross and Russell Square stations where at least 20 bodies were trapped in train wreckage.Amid terrible conditions, with body parts strewn across the track, the temperature in the cramped pitch black tunnel rose to an almost unbearable 60C (140F).
Emergency services personnel in contamination suits were also hampered by rats, dust, asbestos and damage to the tunnel itself as they tried to operate in the 10ft wide space.
Cover him, cover him soon!
And with thick set
Masses of memoried flowers -
Hide that red wet
Thing I must somehow forget.
