He does this to wind me up. What the hell is "a complete renaissance of our strategy"? Does he write speeches using Scrabble tiles and a thesaurus?

"The purpose of the provocation that began the conflict was clear: it was to create chaos, division and bloodshed to provoke retaliation by Israel that would lead to Arab and Muslim opinion being inflamed not against those who started the aggression but against those who responded to it."

And I thought it was a way to open negotiations over prison releases (and Hizbollah needed some Israeli prisoners to negotiate with).

I don't know how Blair's prose affects Muslim extremists, but by god it frightens me.

People who inflict their misplaced sense of grievance on the Fire Brigade ("Oo look at me! My house is on fire!") are sickening in the way they attempt to draw some moral equivalence between their little housefire (which they probably staged for CNN anyway) and the holocaust. So in fact, dialling 999 and asking for the Fire Brigade is inherently anti-Semitic.

I think I'm getting the hang of this.

I loved "arc". It used to be called The Fertile Crescent.

Hope you don't mind if I copy this.
Thanks

No problem Saso, help yourself.

I think that the fire chief should stand shoulder to shoulder with the arsonists in such cases as their 'victims' are clearly in the category of 'people with values that are plain wrong'.

The cleansing inferno brought about by the arsonists is clearly targets these people. Those who chose to ignore the 'get out of your home or die' leaflets have only themselves to blame.
