…are steaming across the Baudrillardian gap wreaking mayhem amongst the advisory teams of Republican presidential candidates.
I read somewhere recently that the reason so many on the liberal policy establishment in the States bottled it on Iraq was through following the lead of the Democrats. When they trimmed, the people who hoped to get jobs with them trimmed too. And of course, any Democrats contemplating whether not to trim had to look for policy backup to a bunch of wildly trimming wonks. There still appears to be a kind of hunkered down, Maginot mentality in those quarters: first one over the top is a dirty hippy. By contrast, the Republicans rewarded aggression in their policy teams and the Stalhelm rampages on.
