Phil Ball on the new breed. Obviously being Phil it's a column about Spain, but you can apply it to English football too. Me, I'd put the changes down to, amongst other things:

(a) the difficulty in treating twenty-grand-a-week footballers the same way as their predecessors were treated (whether or not Pulis/Beattie proves or disproves this is a matter for debate) ;

(b) a certain mystification of management in an era where success, and successful individuals, are culturally all-powerful.
