Somehow I think this is as much to do with "commissions" passed around in the royal family/courtier crowd. 5% of 90 billion plus will go a long way.
By contrast, Zardari in Pakistan is commonly known as “Mr 10%”, and the Kim family skim from all of North Korea’s foreign transactions is supposed to be 30%. Five per cent is remarkably modest as these things go. I take back everything I’ve ever said about the al-Yamamah deal. As Mr Tony Blair likes to point out, the Saudis are indeed “moderates.”
5% of 90 Billion is always better than 30% of 1 billion...
