Reuters has tried to encapsulate the entire Chinese power structure in a series of monster infographics. It's a thing of beauty in many ways but the sheer interlocking sprawl of the system kind of defeats the object, assuming that the object is to get everything in one place where it can be more or less immediately comprehended. But anyway, here is your Friday afternoon timesink.
I think it's high time that all this kind of data was made into a role playing game where you, Comrade X, start out as a crawling political worm and work your way upwards, fitting into existing networks, forging your own, accumulating a scaly liver and a pile of mistresses as you go. All good fun.

That would be the HeadCrash Brothers' award-winning PC game, "DESPOT". Unfortunately the game is only available for purchase by Iain Banks characters.

I've always enjoyed the boardgame "Junta" where an element of roleplaying is nigh on essential.
